Do fish ever get thirsty?

Fish live in the water and don't get 'thirsty' as land animals do. How they use water depends on where they live. Fish living in salty seawater constantly lose water from their skin and gills, so they have to keep drinking to stay hydrated. In freshwater fish, water flows into their bodies. They don't drink so much, but pass a lot of urine to get all that extra water out!
