Your brain structure may determine how much pain you can tolerate

Pain threshold is the level at which we experience pain and varies from person to person. Studies suggest that it depends on the thickness of a person’s cerebral cortex - the outermost layer of the brain. It was found that a person more sensitive to pain had a thinner cerebral cortex or less grey matter in the areas of the brain related to attention control and thoughts.
